BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Oswego State swimming & diving teams began their second day of the SUNYAC Championships this afternoon. The women dropped back one place in the standings, remaining tied with Potsdam, while the men were able to take sole possession of fourth place. The men trail third place New Paltz by 23 points.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Erick Zizic took seventh in the B-group final in the Men's 500m free final, finishing with a time of 5:00.30s. Zizic earned two points for the Lakers with his finish.

Anna Baker took sixth in the B-group final for the 200 yard IM race. Baker earned three points, finishing with a time of 2:27.88s.

The men were able to get 21 points in the 200 IM finals, with a third place finish in the A group, and a fourth place finish in the B group. FInishing third in the A group was Zachary Brown, who finished with a time of 1:56.06s, earning 16 points. Nathan Ratta Vine earned five points for his fourth place finish in the B group, with a time of 2:02.16s.

The women grabbed six points in the 50m free finals race, with fifth and seventh place finishes in the B final. Jayna Laferriere took fifth (four points), with a time of 25.48s; Alexia Lemus took seventh (two points) with a time of 25.82s.

The men had three finalists in the B-group for the 50 yard freestyle race. The men took fifth (four points), sixth (three points), and eighth (one point) in the final, which earned them eight points. Matthew Seyse took fifth place with a time of 22.02s, VIncent Mullen took sixth with a time of 22.22s, and Ray Paull took eighth place with a time of 22.74s.

Vincent Mullen was the lone competitor in the B-final for the men's 1 meter diving event. Mullen finished with a score of 313.90, which earned nine points for the team.

In the final event of the night for the women, the Lakers took sixth in the 200 yard freestyle relay, which earned them 26 points. The relay team consisted of Alexia Lemus, Maura Moochler, Anna Baker, and Jayna Laferriere, who finished with a time of 1:43.42s.

The men were able to take fourth in their final race of the evening, which was the 200 yard freestyle relay. Earning 30 points for the Lakers with a time of 1:26.77s was Zachary Brown, Vincent Mullen, Raymond Paull, and Matthew Seyse.

The Lakers will be competing for the next two days for the SUNYAC Championship, through Saturday, February 18th.
