FREDONIA, N.Y. – The Oswego State Women's Basketball team defeated the Fredonia Blue Devils in a close contest.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The first quarter was close, with the game standing at 18-18 after the first ten minutes. Elaina Johnson and Julia Logana both had four points. Karleigh Leo had a layup, scoring her first points since her return.

Johnson and Logana backed up their first quarter with equally impressive second quarters. Johnson ended the first half with 11 points, and Logana had 10. Oswego took control in the second quarter, achieving a 40-32 lead.

Both teams slowed the scoring pace in the third quarter, but Oswego padded their lead to ten points. Johnson had three more points in the third quarter.

Fredonia made a run at the Lakers in the fourth, but Logan Castiglione hit two big three pointers late to keep the game out of reach. Oswego sealed the deal and won 65-51.

Johnson led all scorers with 18 points. Other Lakers who scored in double-digits were Sydney Hoefs, Logana, and Castiglione, who all scored 10.
