THE BASICS
Final Score: Oswego State 48 (12-10, SUNYAC 5-10), Oneonta 62 (15-6, SUNYAC 10-4)
Location: Max Ziel Gymnasium, Oswego, NY
HOW IT HAPPENED
-
The first quarter was very tight, with both teams scoring 13 points. Sydney Hoefs scored six in the first quarter.
-
Oneonta went cold from the floor, and couldn't get into a good offensive rhythm. The Lakers, led by Chastin Giles, who had seven in the quarter, ended the half with a five-point lead.
-
Meg Nardelli exploded for 13 points in the third, and led the Oneonta comeback in the third quarter, hitting three three-pointers. Oswego ended the quarter down five.
-
The Red Dragons continued to pull away in the fourth quarter and ended the game with a 14-point victory.
-
Some stand out Oswego performances include Logan Castiglione, who scored 11, Chastin Giles, who had nine points, and Giavanna White-Principio, who had eight.
-
The Lakers controlled a lot of the game in the paint. White-Principio was one of the Laker players who helped protect the paint for the first few quarters.
WHAT'S NEXT
The women will host the other Red Dragons when SUNY Cortland comes to Oswego on Saturday, February 11.
