Wiley Earns Oswego State Single Season Points Record

GENESEO, N.Y. – The Oswego State Women's Lacrosse team traveled to Geneseo for a SUNYAC semifinal matchup against the Knights. The Knights ended the Lakers historic season, scoring nine second half goals pulling away from the Lakers. Isabella Lembo and Sela Wiley led the way for the Lakers in the loss, each recording a hat trick.

Final Score: Oswego State 9 (13-5, 7-3 SUNYAC), Geneseo 15 (13-4, 9-1 SUNYAC)

HOW IT HAPPENED

Madison Davis gave the Lakers a one goal lead just over five minutes into the game.
The Knights matched the Lakers with 7:27 remaining in the first quarter.
With 2:03 remaining, Sela Wiley gave the Lakers the lead again, and Oswego held onto a 2-1 lead going into the second quarter.
Wiley kept things rolling for Oswego in the second, scoring a free position goal two minutes in.
Geneseo came soaring back though, scoring three goals just three minutes apart to take a 4-3 lead with 6:08 left in the half.
Julia Quirk tied the game back at four for the Lakers before the Knights added two goals to take a 6-4 lead into halftime.
Unfortunately for the Lakers, the Knights continued to score goals in the second half.
Oswego netted two third quarter goals, to the four scored by Geneseo.
Scoring in the third quarter for Oswego was Lembo and Quirk, and the score would be 10-6 going into the fourth.
The Knights scored four straight goals in the final quarter before Oswego would respond.
Trailing 14-6, Wiley netted her third and final goal of the game to make it a seven goal game.
Back-to-back goals by Lembo brought the Lakers within five, but the last minute rally would be kept shore, as Geneseo put the Lakers away, scoring with 55 seconds left in the game.
Oswego would fall to the Knights by a score of 15-9, and the Lakers season would come to a close.
Sarah Kamide recorded 11 saves in the game for Oswego.
Lembo finishes the season with 58 goals, good enough for fourth all time in a single season at Oswego State.
