OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State Field Hockey hosted their second home game of the season this afternoon against the Colonels of Wilkes University. A thrilling game turned even more exciting when Wilkes tied the contest at two goals a side with 15 seconds remaining in the contest. In overtime, Wilkes would take the victory 7:18 into the 10-minute overtime period.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The first quarter was nothing less than a defensive battle with only two penalty corners and one shot wide in the entire quarter, all of the Lakers' side of the ball.

Three minutes into the second quarter, Wilkes got a shot off and put away the rebound, breaking the stalemate.

Molly Darcy had a great chance in front 10:31 into the second quarter but was shut down by the Wilkes goalkeeper.

Just over 12 minutes into the third quarter, Oswego tied the game at one a piece with a penalty stroke goal by Kacie Simzer.

The fourth quarter started with plenty of opportunities for the Colonels, earning two penalty corners and a shot on goal.

Oswego did not take light of that, scoring off of a penalty corner.

Shortly after Kaitlyn Jordan took the penalty corner, Nancy Pagliaroli scored the Lakers' second goal of the game.

Wilkes did everything they could to tie the contest and would with just 15 ticks remaining on the clock.

Oswego has the first offensive opportunity in overtime, Darcy was shut down by the Wilkes goalkeeper.

At the 67:18 mark of the contest, Wilkes scored the game-winning goal after a penalty corner and took the victory.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Lakers will host St. John Fisher on Wednesday, September 6th at 4:00PM right at Laker Turf Stadium to end the Lakers' three game homestead.
