HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lakers won the tip-off, but over a minute passed before Steven Bradley opened scoring with a jumper, quickly followed by a Brockport three-pointer. Ahkee Anderson's free throws and a three-pointer by Bradley gave Oswego a 7-3 lead, prompting a Brockport timeout. The Lakers capitalized on turnovers, with Xavier Allen adding a jumper and Deacon Judd intercepting a pass to lead Anderson to a layup. Despite Oswego's dominant possession, Brockport stayed close by converting their opportunities, trailing 15-10. Gary McLane, Cole Kattan, and Arthur Foster each sank three-pointers, stretching Oswego's lead to 28-19. Brockport responded with a layup and tightened their defense, holding Oswego scoreless for nearly three minutes. Xavier Allen ended the drought with a jumper, making it 30-25. Both teams increased defensive intensity as the half closed, but Allen's late three-pointer helped Oswego secure a 35-29 halftime lead.
Brockport opened the second half missing their initial three-pointer, allowing Cole Kattan to extend Oswego's lead with a three-pointer, followed by a Deacon Judd layup. The Golden Eagles closed the gap to one point after converting four free throws, but Xavier Allen's jumper put the Lakers ahead 42-39. With the game's intensity rising, Oswego accumulated four team fouls in under five minutes. Allen's steal led to an Ahkee Anderson layup, and Judd's three-point play pushed the Lakers to 48-41. A traveling call on Brockport set up Steven Bradley's three-pointer, and after a Brockport layup and timeout, Bradley hit another three, extending the lead to 54-43. Brockport narrowed the gap to five points, but layups by Arthur Foster and Allen maintained Oswego's edge at 60-51. The Golden Eagles fought back, closing within four points, but Foster's three-pointer provided breathing room. After Brockport's late scoring burst cut the lead, Allen's back-to-back three-pointers, along with a Kattan free throw and Anderson jumper, pushed Oswego to 73-63. Brockport briefly responded with a steal and dunk, but Allen's 24th point of the game and Anderson's jumper sealed the win for Oswego. Despite a last-second three-pointer by Brockport, the Lakers secured a 78-72 victory.
