#4 Men's Basketball Scorches The Blue Devils

OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego State Men's Basketball team hosted the Fredonia State Blue Devils this evening. The Lakers stole the show defeating the Blue Devils 111-70. 12 Lakers contributed to the overall score.

HOW IT HAPPENED
 
Cartier Bowman began the game by scoring the first three points in the opening 10 seconds. Within the first five minutes of the quarter, Oswego had doubled the score of their opponent, asserting their dominance. At the ten-minute mark, the Lakers tripled the Blue Devils score, 27-9. In the final seconds of half, Julien Crittendon was able to capitalize on a steal and scored on a driving layup. The score going into halftime was 57-29. The Lakers absolutely ran away with the game and profited from scoring 60% of their shots.
 
Fredonia scored four points to open the second half, and Jamal Achille retaliated with a three for the green and gold. A steal by Ahkee Anderson gave Oswego possession of the ball and Kaleb Cook made a three, boosting the score even further to 66-35. A nice passing play allowed Cook time for another good three which was soon followed by a dunk by Jeremiah Sparks, making the score 77-41. With nine minutes to go, a jump shot by Sean Edwards pushed the Lakers to 93-55. The 100th point of the game was a three shot by Steven Bradley who, additionally, made three more consecutive threes. Elijah Hardison added a dunk with 52 seconds left to top off the night. Oswego took the win 111-70.
 
The Lakers saw contributions from 12 players towards the final score. Leading scorers for the night were Crittendon and Cook with 18 points each, Bowman added 15, and Bradley 14.
 
WHAT'S NEXT
 
The Lakers will host the Buffalo State Bengals on Saturday, February 17 for Senior Day and their last regular season game.
