HOW IT HAPPENED

The Lakers had a strong start in the opening quarter, up 8-0 during the first three minutes of play. A three by Karleigh Leo bumped up the Lakers 13-2; and Logan Castiglione followed suit adding one of her own. Rebounds and steals were continuing key factors that contributed to Laker possession. Oswego was on top 23-5 at the end of the quarter.

Giavanna White-Principio was first to score in the second quarter on a rebound followed by a Zhane Holmes three. The Bengals came back ready for a fight, matching the Lakers 14-14 for points demonstrating the even play for the quarter. Oswego benefited from multiple turnovers but was only able to shoot 28.6% from the floor.

Going into the second half at 37-19, Oswego looked to keep their momentum going. The green and gold were able to maintain at least a 17 point lead the whole third quarter thanks to a solid defensive effort. With six seconds left on the clock, Caitie Lilly scored with a layup pushing Oswego even further ahead, 55-29.

Buffalo State was ready to battle for the final quarter and finally found their footing offensively. Despite the Bengals outscoring the Lakers 18-13, the green and gold added consistent baskets to maintain the lead. A Bengals jump shot with 25 seconds remaining on the clock left the score at 68-47 to end the game.

Leading the Lakers this afternoon was Giavanna White-Principio and Logan Castiglione with 14 and 11 points, respectively. White-Principio also contributed 11 rebounds.
