POTSDAM, N.Y. – The Oswego Women's Lacrosse team traveled to Potsdam, N.Y. to take on the Clarkson Golden Knights in a non-conference match-up. The Lakers were defeated 18-10.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Julia Quirk scored the first goal of the game only 30 seconds in. Clarkson tied it up just two minutes later and netted another one less than a minute after. Quirk scored yet again to keep Oswego competitive, tying the score 2-2. Clarkson then scored three times more, using nice drives, setting them apart from the Lakers who had to stay strong on defense at the end of the first quarter. Sophie Ruschin scored with just seven seconds left on the clock, making the score 5-3.

Oswego had to be on the defensive end for the majority of the second quarter to attempt to hold off the Golden Knights. The score was 9-5 going into halftime.

Entering the second half, Clarkson scored twice in the eleventh minute increasing their lead over Oswego. The Golden Knights outshot the Lakers 11-4, capitalizing on their offensive opportunities.
Sela Wiley won the opening draw control of the final quarter and was able to net another one for the Lakers. Madison Davis scored roughly four minutes later after a successful draw controlled by Wiley which made the score 15-9. Clarkson continued to outplay Oswego which led to the Laker loss 18-10.

Wiley netted three, Quirk and Davis two, and Isabella Lembo one.

The Lakers will host the Utica University Pioneers on Saturday March 2nd at the Laker Turf Stadium with a  1 p.m start time.
