MYRTLE BEACH, SC – The Oswego State Softball team took on the University of Maine Presque Isle for their second game of the day on Friday. After forcing extra innings, the Lakers secured their second win of the day, 10-7.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lakers got on the board early when
Ellie Mahoney singled home Kira wright. That was followed by a single from
Lily Fanea that scored
Grace DiPalma. Then Lilian Haggerty scored Fionna Higgins on a SAC fly giving the Lakers a 3-0 lead after one inning.
The Lakers scored again in the second off a double from
Ellie Mahoney that scored
Grace DiPalma boosting the Oswego lead to 4-1.
In the fifth, the Maine bats woke up and took the lead from Oswego making the score 6-4 which would stay that way until the 7
th. Oswego did not go quietly and in the seventh,
Kylie Detz doubled sending home
Grace DiPalma, then
Fiona Higgins scored on an error tying the game up at 6 and forcing extra innings.
The Lakers tacked on 4 runs in the top of the 8
th off of three hits and an error to take a 10-6 lead into the bottom of the inning. Maine added one run, but it was not enough to take down the Lakers and Oswego captured their second win of the day, 10-7.

The Lakers will return home to take on St Lawrence in a double header on Saturday March 30
th starting at 1:00 PM.
