OSWEGO, N.Y. – The Oswego Men's Lacrosse team traveled to Plattsburgh State to take on the Cardinals this afternoon. The Lakers had a big second half, scoring nine goals, which contributed to their 12-6 win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The opening quarter saw a lot of back and forth play between the Cardinals and the Lakers.
Hayden Coney scored the lone goal for the quarter at the 3:25 mark.
In the second quarter, Plattsburgh tied up the game with a low shot to the net.
Liam Sexton took advantage of playing with a man-up to regain the lead. Netting one on the right side,
Emmett Starowizc pushed Oswego further ahead 3-1. Plattsburgh capitalized on a four on six opportunity and scored with a low bounce shot to decrease the point differential.
Less than 30 seconds into the second half,
Connor Aspinall took a quick close range shot for Oswego goal number four. Not even a minute later,
Corey O'Connor scored with a low shot to the right corner boosting them 5-2. At 10:42 Starowizc scored the sixth goal for the green and gold. Starowizc made a quick pass to O'Connor who scored with a close-range shot making the score 7-2. With the Cardinals now in Laker territory, Plattsbrugh scored their third goal with a low shot to the left side. Now edging closer, the Cardinals took another low shot that found the back of the net. The Cardinals invaded the Oswego zone during the last minute and half of the game. There were only seven seconds left on the clock for the third quarter when a low Cardinal shot on goal made its way into the net. Going into the final quarter the score was 7-5.
A no look shot by Sexton found the upper right-hand corner to continue the Laker lead. Following an Oswego turnover, a Plattsburgh jump shot continued the Cardinals slow but steady play. O'Connor then scored two goals. The first on a man up opportunity, and the second was a low shot. He scored on a man up opportunity from the left side with a low shot to put Oswego up by five.
Jason Dongelewic scored an open goal with 36 seconds remaining to solidify the Laker 12-6 win.
Seamus Hand made 15 saves in goal with a 71.4% save percentage.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Lakers will travel to Rochester to go head-to-head with the Nazareth University Golden Flyers at 3 p.m on April 17.
