ONEONTA, NY – The SUNY Oswego softball continued their weekend road trip on Sunday to Oneonta New York where they took on the SUNY Oneonta Red Dragons in a double header. The Lakers dropped both games in Oneonta to the Red Dragons.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1:
Starting pitching for the Lakers in game one was 
Fiona Higgins.
The Red Dragons of Oneonta pushed across one run in the first, two in the third, three in the fifth, and one in the sixth.
The Lakers threatened in the third after a walk from 
Grace DiPalma, a fielder's choice, and a single from 
Mackenzie Carlson, but left a few stranded.
In the fifth, 
Kira Wright singled to kick off the inning but was caught stealing, 
Mattison Phinney singled later in the inning followed by another single from 
Mackenzie Carlson but the Lakers once again left runners stranded.
It wasn't until the sixth when 
Kylie Detz was hit by a pitch, advanced to second, stole third, and scored on a fielder's choice from Lilian Haggerty that Oswego got on the board.
The Lakers fell in game one, 7-1.
Game 2:
In the second game, Chelseas Sellars got the start and was followed by 
Maria Lutz in relief.
The Oneonta offense was on display from the start, in four innings they scored 11 runs on 13 hits and 3 errors from the Lakers.
The Lakers had three hits in game two coming from 
Mattison Phinney (2) and 
Tahlia Gerardi. Unfortunately, these did not come in succession and the Lakers fell in five innings to Oneonta, 11-0.

Lakers softball will travel to Clarkson University on Wednesday for a double header starting at 3:00 PM
