HOW IT HAPPENED

Game 1:
Starting pitching for the Lakers in game one was Fiona Higgins.

The Red Dragons of Oneonta pushed across one run in the first, two in the third, three in the fifth, and one in the sixth.

The Lakers threatened in the third after a walk from Grace DiPalma, a fielder's choice, and a single from Mackenzie Carlson, but left a few stranded.

In the fifth, Kira Wright singled to kick off the inning but was caught stealing, Mattison Phinney singled later in the inning followed by another single from Mackenzie Carlson but the Lakers once again left runners stranded.

It wasn't until the sixth when Kylie Detz was hit by a pitch, advanced to second, stole third, and scored on a fielder's choice from Lilian Haggerty that Oswego got on the board.
The Lakers fell in game one, 7-1.

Game 2:
In the second game, Chelseas Sellars got the start and was followed by Maria Lutz in relief.

The Oneonta offense was on display from the start, in four innings they scored 11 runs on 13 hits and 3 errors from the Lakers.

The Lakers had three hits in game two coming from Mattison Phinney (2) and Tahlia Gerardi. Unfortunately, these did not come in succession and the Lakers fell in five innings to Oneonta, 11-0.

WHATS NEXT
Lakers softball will travel to Clarkson University on Wednesday for a double header starting at 3:00 PM
