Troy, N.Y. – The Oswego State Volleyball team took to the road to take part in Union College's tournament. In their first game of the tournament Oswego took on hometeam Union College on friday night and fell in straight sets. The Lakers will look to rebound tomorrow as they continue their road trip

HOW IT HAPPENED

In the first set the energy of the Lakers was felt early by Union. As the Lakers jumped out to a 13-10 lead with key plays made by Seniors Cara Simplicio and Emily Zeisler. The Lakers stumbled after grabbing the early lead as Union was able to go on a 15-4 run to end the first set 17-25.

The Second started off with a rebound of energy from the Lakers as it was a hotly contested first 14 points as Union took the early lead 6-7. The Lakers were unable to figure out Union's Shannon McGrath as she was able to secure five kills out of the next 14 points as the Chargers grabbed a demanding lead 20-7. The Lakers were able to respond to the run down the stretch with the Lakers and Union finishing the second set 11-25 Union.

The third and final set of the game was the closest of the match. The Lakers showed a tremendous amount of heart as their early struggles did not deter them from keeping the high Laker energy that has highlighted their season so far. Union jumped out to a huge 7 lead that the Lakers were unable to match. Due to the early deficit the Lakers fell in the third set 21-25
