THE BASICS
Final Score:
Oswego 0 (2-5, 0-0 SUNYAC),
Geneseo 4 (7-1, 0-0 Empire 8)
Location: Geneseo College Stadium, SUNY Geneseo

HOW IT HAPPENED
Geneseo came out firing on all cylinders from the opening whistle, up until the final horn. Oswego's defense played on their heels for a vast majority of the game. The Knights got on the board at 10:40 from an unassisted goal by Emily Cortese. Geneseo outshot the Lakers 18-0 in what was a forgetful first half for the Lakers. Cortese's goal gave Geneseo a 1-0 lead going into the halftime break.

Geneseo started the 2nd half right where they left off. An unassisted goal by Katrina Clare gave the Knights a 2-0 lead. Only 4 minutes later, Clare tacked on another goal to give the Knights a comfortable 3-0 lead. At 44:03, a screamer from Geneseo's Hailey Roethel pushed the lead to 4-0. Roethel's goal would be the last goal scored in the game. Oswego's Sam Krautheim saw plenty of action in goal, as she faced 37 shots, 23 of them on goal. Krautheim was able to come up with 19 saves on the night, in what was an offensive bombardment from the Knights. After the match, the Knights moved to 7-1, and the Lakers fell to 2-5.

WHAT'S NEXT
Oswego Field Hockey will travel to Cortland, NY on September 28th for their first conference matchup of the year, to take on the Red Dragons at 1:00 PM.
