HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lakers started on the back foot, with relentless pressure coming from the Hawks. Despite this pressure, Sam Krautheim recorded 2 saves, and the Oswego defense held strong, heading into the first break still tied at 0-0.
Roberts Wesleyan continued this pressure in the second quarter of action, and broke the tie just three minutes in, with Julia Lukasik scoring off of a penalty shot, to take a 1-0 lead. Oswego would apply a bit more pressure in the second, but came up scoreless, recording zero shots going into the halftime break.
Sam Krautheim held strong for most of the third, recording three more saves and keeping the Lakers' hopes of a comeback alive. But in the final thirty seconds of the period, Roberts Wesleyan capitalized on a penalty corner, doubling their lead, and putting themselves ahead 2-0 entering the final quarter of action.
The Lakers finished the day with 0 recorded shots, falling to the Hawks by a score of 2-0. Despite this, Sam Krautheim had another phenomenal performance for the Lakers between the sticks, boasting 6 saves on 8 shots faced.
