HOW IT HAPPENED
Oswego controlled the ball for a lot of the early parts of this game. The offense was there but the Lakers couldn't get a shot on goal. Paytyn Crane was on her game to start this one off as Buffalo State had an early scoring opportunity, the Bengals Emily Maczka let one rip but Crane denied the strike to keep this one even at 0-0  for the first 12 minutes.  Oswego let off 4 shots in the 13th through 15th minute. None made it past the keeper but Oswego was knocking on the door. In the 20th minute, Buffalo State found their first goal of the game. Oswego had good shots at the net but the defense from the Bengals stopped this game from being tied. Halftime arrived with the Bengals leading 1-0.

The balanced game continued as both teams' time of possessions was nearly identical. Both squads got plenty of shots off. Kyla Sustad had a good chance in the 50th minute but Clisson continued her good game, saving the low centered bullet from Sustad. A couple more shots from Oswego would follow but the force field in the back of the net stayed consistent. Back and forth we went until Oswego earned a goal of their own in the 76th minute. It was the Senior Amber McDermott. She went high left off the feed from Sustad to tie this contest at 1. McDermott's 3rd goal of the season couldn't have come at a better time for the Lakers. Both teams shut each other down with each team recording a save in the final minutes of the second period. The Lakers and Bengals each scored one leaving this game knotted at 1 at the end of 90.
