Lakers Finish Conference Play with Clean Sweep of Canton

Oswego, NY - The SUNY Oswego women's volleyball team closed out conference play in dominant fashion Tuesday night, sweeping SUNY Canton 3–0 (25–20, 25–19, 25–19) inside Laker Hall's Ziel Gym. The victory pushes the Lakers to 19–6 overall and 7–2 in SUNYAC play.

How it Happened
Oswego's offense was firing on all cylinders, hitting an impressive .287 as a team while holding the Roos to just .137. Outside hitter Priscilla McReynolds led the charge with 14 kills on 37 swings, good for a .270 hitting percentage, while also adding three service aces and nine digs for a team-best 17.5 points.

Kalley Vugteveen was electric at the net, registering six kills with a .462 clip and contributing on both sides of the ball with two aces, two block assists, and a solo block. Gigi Basile added eight kills of her own at a .333 mark, while Alaina Dudzinski chipped in three kills and a team-high seven block assists as the Lakers' front line stifled Canton's attack.

Setter Mya Bush orchestrated the offense with precision, dishing out 35 assists and picking up 11 digs for a double-double performance. Lauren Cropp and Grace Gdovin anchored the defense with nine and seven digs respectively, while Juliana Santafemia provided stability in serve receive and tallied an ace.

The Lakers came out strong in the opening set, using a late 6–2 run to pull away 25–20. After another consistent offensive showing in set two, Oswego put together its cleanest frame of the night in the third, hitting a blistering .444 to seal the sweep.

The Lakers now move to 7-2 in the SUNYAC which is their best conference record since 2015 when they also finished 7-2.

What's Next
The Lakers will hit the road this weekend to take on Clarkson and Skidmore in two non-conference games before having a short break to prepare for the Conference Tournament.
