HOW IT HAPPENED
The SUNYAC player of the year from a year ago got out to a fiery start in this game. 3 quick buckets from the second year phenom
Deacon Judd got the Lakers out to an early lead. Oswego then went on a three-point barrage with
Steven Bradley hitting 3 bonus distance jumpers in just the span of a couple minutes. It was a tea party for the Lakers as
Jayson McGhee got in on the behind the arc fest with 2 of his own in the first 8 minutes of play. The Saints needed a timeout but McGhee came right back at them tallying 5 more points out of the timeout. The Lakers had a commanding, 33-18 lead on the St. Lawrence. The Lakers kept playing sound offense and extended their lead to 21 with 3 minutes left to play in the first half. The Saints found a little offense to close out the half as they cut the Laker lead down to 15.
The Saints came out aggressive starting off with 2 quick fouls that sent
Gary McLane to the line as well as
Deacon Judd. The Freshman
Freddy Fowler also got in on the scoring for Oswego as he hit a pull up jay to open up second half field goals by the Lakers. The Lakers just would not let up as the second half continued. The game's leading scorer
Steven Bradley hit 2 of his 6 three pointers back-to-back with just over 13 minutes left to play. St. Lawrence showed some life going on a 7-point run sponsored by Dan Anderson. The Lakers, still up 16, didn't want their fast start to go to waste. Although the Saints did make a push to get back in this one, Oswego stayed composed and held on to this lead. It was
Deacon Judd in the end scoring 7 straight Laker points to propel Oswego to their second win of the season.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Lakers are back in action this weekend as they face off against Nazareth. The Golden Flyers come into this game 3-0 after a nail biting win over RIT. Tip-off is set for 4:00pm on Saturday.
