HOW IT HAPPENED

The Lakers started out in a close battle with high energy from both squads. Jayson McGhee continued to shoot the three-ball well as he grabbed the Lakers' first field goal with a beautiful stroke from beyond the arc. As the Lakers fell behind, Gary McLane was there, scoring five straight to get the Lakers an early lead on the Golden Eagles. It was back and forth before the SUNYAC player of the week got his scoring going with a triple to put Oswego up 21-17. Brockport came right back at them with a three to close the gap. The Lakers finally started to build their lead at around the 30 point mark. Thanks to Chris Whyte-Luciano, Oswego found themselves up 6 with under five minutes left to go in the first half. Steven Bradley contributed to end the half with a pretty jumper to put him at 5 points for the half. Oswego finished strong and put Brockport in a seven point deficit going to the locker room.

The Golden Eagles came out capitalizing in all the right places cutting the Oswego lead to just one. Brockport just wouldn't go away. They made it close and kept it close. Every Oswego bucket was countered by a Brockport bucket. Judd kept his big game going scoring his 18th point to give Oswego a 46-43 lead. The scoring really got going around this point. 19 points combined from both teams were scored in just two minutes. Both teams were scoring though so it remained a tight contest at 56-55. Judd would then hit a three followed by a Arthur Foster deuce and a McGhee triple. Just like that the Lakers were up seven. The game slowed down but Oswego was able to hold onto this lead. It ramped back up around the eight minute mark. Foster hit two free throws and McGhee kept his big night going. The nail in the coffin came when Whyte-Luciano hit back to back bonus distance shots and put the game away. Oswego welcomed in the Golden Eagles and took care of business with a big win, 92-81.

WHAT'S NEXT

The Lakers have a long break to get ready for SUNYAC play as they travel south to Cortland, NY to play the Red Dragons of Cortland on December 5th. Tip-off for that contest is set for 7:30.
