Lakers Take Down Brockport 4-1 on Military Appreciation Night

Oswego, NY – Oswego controlled play from start to finish on Saturday night at the Deborah F. Stanley Arena, powering past SUNY Brockport 4–1 to remain unbeaten and cap a complete performance at home.

The Basics
#10 Oswego - 4 (2-0-0, 0-0-0 SUNYAC)
Brockport – 1 (1-3-0, 0-0-0 UCHC)
Deborah F Stanley Arena, Oswego, NY

How It Happened
The night opened with early pressure from Oswego, and the Lakers were rewarded just over five minutes in when Ryan Burke buried the game's first goal off a feed from Justin Ryan. The opening period saw Oswego pile up chances hitting a post and forcing multiple saves while goaltender Michael Manzi turned away all eight Brockport shots.

In the second, the Lakers continued to tilt the ice and finally converted on the power play. With Oswego buzzing during a late man advantage, Connor Gatto ripped home a goal at 18:40 for what would stand as the game-winning goal, set up by Travis Baker. Manzi stayed perfect through 40 minutes, kicking aside another 10 shots.

Brockport briefly drew within one early in the third, but Oswego answered emphatically. Less than six minutes later, Jonathan Balah snapped home a goal setup from Tommy Bannister, restoring a two-goal cushion and reasserting control. The Lakers then locked down defensively, killing off a late penalty stretch before Josh Simpson sealed the game with an unassisted empty-netter in the final seconds.

Manzi finished with 21 saves for the win, backstopping a defensive group that smothered Brockport's opportunities and held the Golden Eagles scoreless on all three of their power plays. At the faceoff dot, Oswego held a 31–27 edge, with Gatto (10–7) and Burke (8–7) leading the way.

What's Next
The Lakers will return home on Friday November 14th for their annual white out game when they host Plattsburgh starting at 7:00 PM.
