OSWEGO, NY. - The Oswego State Women's Lacrosse team was back in action for the second time this week. This time, they hosted the RIT Tigers on the Lakers turf for the first time this season.
THE BASICS
Oswego 10 (1-1, 0-0 SUNYAC)Â
RIT 17 (2-0, 0-0 Liberty League)Â
Location: Laker Turf Stadium, Oswego, NY

HOW IT HAPPENED
It was the Tigers who struck first on the chilly afternoon scoring the first goal of the game at the 4-minute mark. Oswego's
Julia Quirk struck right back with a goal of her own assisted by
Alexis Hill to tie it at 1. RIT then went on to score three more goals in the first but Oswego's
Alexis Hill and
Mackenzie Winn both scored to close the gap to 4-3 at the end of the first.
Cassidy Croce scored her second goal of the season in the first 5 minutes of the second, however, the Tigers went on a run of scoring 5 unanswered goals before the half to lead by a score of 10-4 at the break.
After the Tigers opened the third with a goal,
Cassidy Croce scored again for the Lakers with the assist from
Mackenzie Winn. Offensively, the Lakers kept up with the Tigers in the third quarter but could not come up with stops on the other end of the field. Both teams scored 4 goals in the third with the lakers goals coming from Croce and Hill.
In the fourth, the Tigers picked up the effort on the defensive end but so did the Lakers. Oswego held RIT to their lowest offensive output all day in the fourth. Unfortunately, goals from
Madison Davis and
Alexis Hill weren't enough and the Lakers fell at home, 17-10.
