HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
-
Just five pitches into the game, the Lakers would grab the lead on the scoreboard and the momentum on the field. A leadoff home run off the bat of Lakers Junior Emil Sanders would start the game with a bang 1-0 Lakers
-
Oswego Would hand the ball to Laker Nick Cody for the first game. Cody traveled and came with his best stuff of the season so far as he would set the tone early, stifling any attempts the Yellow Jackets had of mounting an inning.Â
-
It would prove to be a pitching duel for much of the afternoon as both teams would only manage a few base runners over the next several innings. Strong defense and masterful pitching would set the tone for a defensive matchup
-
The 6th Inning is the next time we would see anyone cross home for either side. The Lakers Felix De Asa Delacruz would come up to bad with bases loaded and forced an erratic throw that would ultimately hit Delacruz allowing for Lakers Daniel Winchester to walk home, 2-0 Lakers
-
The Lakers defense would face their first trouble as Cody would see two guys come aboard and eventually have a deep sac fly to left field score the first run for the yellow jackets 2-1 Lakers as they ended the sixth
-
Delacruz would come back to the plate during the 8th inning and he was looking to use his bat this time around, and he did just that as a hard hit single to center field would score Daniel Winchester for the second time of the game and giving a much needed insurance run for the Lakers, 3-1 as they entered the Ninth
-
In the ninth The Lakers would turn to sophomore Matt Drillings to close down the yellow jackets and secure game 1. The Yellow Jackets would not go down without a fight as they would put two runners on base threatening to even the score. But the Sophomore refused to be denied from the save opportunity as he struck out the final batter. 3-1 Lakers

HOW IT HAPPENED
-
The Lakers looked to continue their dominant day as they set off during game two. Unlike the first game, the Lakers would go scoreless in the first but they would put themselves on the board in second
-
Lakers Senior Joe McLaughlin would a deep fly ball to right center that would find a patch of grass, Dylan Rosenberg, who stole a base earlier in the inning used his positioning to take full advantage as he would round the bases and break the scoreless tie, 1-0 Lakers at the end of 2
-
Costly errors by the yellow jackets in the fourth inning would allow the Lakers to continue to build on their lead. Set up by some earned walks by the Lakers, an error in the field would see the Lakers push across two more runs as they widened the gap 3-0 Lakers
-
On the other side of the ball the Laker defense and pitching game, showed up and showed out as Lakers starter Joel Hayner would go five scoreless innings on his way to his first win of the season
-
In the top of the seventh the Lakers would add onto their lead and score the final and decisive three runs of the ball game. Sophomore Thomas Harrington of the Lakers would come in to pinch hit and he would deliver as he put down a perfect bunt that would see him safe at first and score fellow Laker Tishawn Featherstone, 4-0. The Lakers were not done as Joe Mclaughlin would add to his RBI total with a deep sac fly and an RBI single by Emil sanders would push the lead to 6-0 Lakers
Â
WIN - Joel Hayner
LOSS -Jack Subramanian
