Lakers Topple the Cardinals To Remain Undefeated in the SUNYAC

OSWEGO, N.Y. – Oswego Men's Lacrosse were on the road to take on the Plattsburgh Cardinals this Saturday for another SUNYAC match-up. In a decisive win, the Lakers remained undefeated in the SUNYAC hurdling towards a clash with the Cortland Red Dragons on Wednesday.

THE BASICS
Final Score:

Oswego 20 (9-3, 5-0 SUNYAC)
Plattsburgh 10 (5-7, 1-4 SUNYAC)
Location: Field House Complex, Plattsburgh, NY

HOW IT HAPPENED
What began as a tightly contested SUNYAC matchup turned into a showcase of Oswego's offensive firepower, as the Lakers pulled away in the second half to down Plattsburgh 20–10 on Saturday afternoon at the Field House Complex.

Oswego (9–3, 5–0 SUNYAC) exploded for 11 goals over the final two quarters, turning a narrow 9–7 halftime lead into a decisive double-digit victory. Senior attackman Corey O'Connor led all scorers with six goals, including a dominant third quarter where he notched three — two of them on man-up opportunities.

Plattsburgh (5–7, 1–4 SUNYAC) came out swinging, grabbing an early 2–0 lead thanks to goals from Peter Urso and Ely Bruhns, and trailed by just one heading into the second quarter. But despite strong efforts from Bruhns and Urso (three goals apiece), the Cardinals struggled to match Oswego's depth and efficiency.

Garrett Elston orchestrated Oswego's offense with seven points (3 goals, 4 assists), while Hayden Coney added three goals and two assists. Gavin Elston chipped in three goals of his own as the Lakers showcased a balanced scoring attack.

Faceoffs were another key advantage for the Lakers, who won 22 of 34 at the X — Logan Prescott leading the way with 22 wins.

Between the pipes, Oswego's Seamus Hand turned aside 10 shots to earn the win. Plattsburgh's Cole Orehosky made 12 saves but was peppered throughout the game, with Oswego firing 57 total shots — 33 of which were on goal.

WHAT'S NEXT
On Wednesday the Lakers will host the Cortland Red Dragons in the battle of the Unbeaten in the SUNYAC conference. The game will be at 4:00 PM on the Laker turf.
