HOW IT HAPPENED
The Oneonta offense was able to mount a hot start in a 3-1 lead. After that, it was the Lakers offense that took over the game. The Lakers were able to score 9 first half goals-a season high. Precise passing was key in the Lakers dismantling of the Red Dragon defense, 5 of the first half goals came off of assists. Despite the flat start, the Lakers were able to go into the halftime break with a 9-5 lead.
In the 2nd half, it was much of the same formula that resulted in success. The Lakers defense stood tall as they only allowed 3 goals in the 2nd half. Oswego was able to push the ball in transition off of defensive stops, resulting in quick offense. The Lakers would coast to a dominant 17-8 victory.
Mackenzie Winn led the Lakers with 6 points. Other contributions came from
Aubriana Green and
Julia Quirk- who each contributed 4 goals apiece.
WHAT'S NEXT
The Lakers will host SUNY Cortland on Thursday, April 10th, at 4:00 PM.
