HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1
The Lakers started out hot, scoring two runs in the top of the first, and taking an early 2-0 lead. Maria Lutz took the mound for Oswego, and closed out a successful first inning, allowing just one hit.

Neither team would get on base in the second inning, but in the third, Oswego found themselves with Lillian Haggerty and Mattison Phinney on the corners with no outs. Despite the odds being in Oswego's favor, a pitching change from St. Lawrence would send their scoring chances packing, as a flyout and two strikeouts kept it at 2-0 heading into the bottom of the third.

Neither team would score again until the bottom of the seventh, where a St. Lawrence RBI- double would make it 2-1. But the Lakers held on, with Maria Lutz throwing the final batter out at first.

WIN: Maria Lutz

Game 2
Oswego started things slower, and neither team hit in any runs in the first. In the second Oswego came up empty in the top of the inning, but St. Lawrence capitalized on a fielding error, and drove home one run on Freshman pitcher Gabriela Milazzo, making it 0-1 through two innings, in favor of St Lawrence.

The Saints added five more runs in the bottom of the fifth, off a pair of doubles deep into the field, and a fielding error on what should have been a ground out to first. Chelsea Sellars would come in on the mound to close out the inning, but the damage was already done, as the Lakers went down 0-6 going into the sixth.

The Saints made it 8-0 off of two more runs tacked on in the bottom of the sixth reaching the 8 run threshold sending the Lakers home with a loss.

WHAT'S NEXT?
The Lakers will travel to Morrisville this Friday, April 11th, to kick off SUNYAC conference play against the Morrisville Mustangs in a double header starting at 3:00 PM.
