ONEONTA, NY - The Oswego State women's soccer team battled SUNY Oneonta to a hard-fought 0-0 draw on Saturday afternoon at Red Dragon Field, opening SUNYAC play.

HOW IT HAPPENED 
Oswego set the tone early, out shooting Oneonta 5-2 in the opening half while showing fluidity in the attack. The Lakers generated consistent pressure, but Red Dragon goalkeeper batted the shots away with two saves, while the remaining Oswego attempts were either blocked or narrowly off frame. Defensively, the Lakers were sharp, conceding just one corner kick in the first 45 minutes and limiting the Red Dragons to two shot attempts, neither of which threatened the net. The half-closed scoreless, with the Lakers dictating much of the tempo.

The second half saw Oswego continue to push forward, tallying nine more shots, six of which were on target. Oneonta once again denied the Lakers with several saves. On the other end, goalkeeper Paytyn Crane anchored the Oswego defense, needing just one save to record the clean sheet. The Red Dragons earned a corner in the second frame, but the Laker back line stood firm and quickly transitioned back into attack. Despite the offensive pressure, the defensive battle held, and the contest ended in a scoreless draw.

WHAT'S NEXT
Oswego holds their first home game in conference play this Wednesday. They will welcome the SUNY Canton Kangaroos. The Roos currently sit at 0-9 after a loss to Fredonia. Kickoff will be at 4:00pm
