Curtis, Kazel Power Lakers to Road Win Over Keuka

KEUKA PARK, NY – The Oswego State field hockey team earned a gritty 2-1 road victory over Keuka on Tuesday afternoon, using a pair of timely goals to secure their first SUNYAC win of the season.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After a scoreless first quarter, Keuka struck first in the second with a goal from Anna Dewey. The Lakers responded quickly, however, as freshman Gabby Curtis buried the equalizer in the 28th minute to send the teams into halftime tied 1-1.

Oswego carried the momentum into the second half, applying steady offensive pressure and generating five penalty corners. The breakthrough came late in the fourth quarter when Ellie Kazel delivered the game-winner in the 56th minute, giving the Lakers the edge.

Defensively, goalkeeper Sam Krauthiem anchored the back line with four saves, including a pair of key stops in the second half to preserve the lead.

WHAT'S NEXT 
The Lakers will hit the road Friday to take on Immaculata University in Pennsylvania with a 4:00 PM start.
