IMMACULATA, PA- The Oswego State Lakers Field Hockey team won their fourth game of the season in a tight contest over Immaculata College, winning their second road game in a row.
THE BASICS
Final
Oswego: 2 (4-7, 0-1 SUNYAC)
Immaculata: 1 (4-9, 0-0 Atlantic East)
Location: Immaculata, PA | Draper Walsh Stadium
HOW IT HAPPENED
Immaculata struck quickly in the first quarter in what would be their only goal of the game, as Morgan Barnes scored her fourth of the year just under six minutes into the game. Oswego responded within the quarter, however, as Mimi Wozniczka scored her first of the season just over halfway through the period. A quiet second period where just one shot was on target for either team left this game knotted at halftime.
The second half is where Oswego took control of the game, with multiple penalty corners and shots on target. Sophomore Sophia Prianti broke through in the third quarter, giving the Lakers the lead, which they held until the final whistle.
Goalkeeper Sam Krautheim continues her great run of form, as she added 5 saves to her excellent season thus far.
WHAT'S NEXT
No rest for the Lakers, as they are back in action tomorrow, October 4th, this time in Maryland as they take on #4 Salisbury, which is set to start at 6:00 PM.
