Western New England: 3 (7-6-0, 5-3-0 CNE)

HOW IT HAPPENED
Oswego wasted no time asserting control, as Smith opened the scoring just 54 seconds into the contest. The early goal set the pace for a strong first period by the Lakers, who dictated play and carried a 1–0 lead into the first intermission.

Western New England evened the score midway through the second period, but Oswego answered quickly and decisively. Smith struck again at 8:55, finishing a clean setup from Sydney Pinti and Julia Power to restore the Lakers' lead. Momentum stayed with Oswego late in the period, and Elizabeth Cooley capitalized with 0.9 seconds remaining, burying her first goal of the season to give the visitors a 3–1 advantage heading into the third.

The Lakers put the game firmly in hand early in the final frame. Smith completed her hat trick at the 1:59 mark with an unassisted goal that stood as the game-winner, pushing the lead to 4–1. Western New England mounted a late surge, scoring twice in the final five minutes to pull within one, but Oswego remained composed under pressure.

With the Golden Bears pressing and the net empty, Katie Demers delivered the dagger with an unassisted empty-net goal at 18:09. Kayla Doerre added insurance with another empty-net tally in the closing seconds, sealing the 6–3 victory.

WHAT'S NEXT
The Lakers will have another tough test tomorrow as the take on the #2 nationally ranked Amherst Mammoths starting at 1:00 PM.
