Houghton, N.Y. — Oswego women's tennis defeated Houghton University 7-0 on Friday. The Lakers won two of three doubles matches and swept all six singles matches.

The Lakers earned the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and No. 3 doubles.
Kate Hayes and
Isabella Eason defeated Sage Brinckerhoff and Zoe Zachery 6-3 at No. 1, and
Hannah Freed and
Alexis Christian beat Jessica Fornah and Anavah Emmott 6-1 at No. 3. Houghton University took No. 2 doubles, where Victoria Martinez and Prashansa Chakrapani defeated
Emery O'Brien and
Evelyn Sunshine 6-1.
SUNY Oswego carried the lead into singles and swept all six courts in straight sets.
Avery Borman defeated Brinckerhoff 6-4, 6-4 at No. 1 singles,
Leah Bell beat Martinez 6-1, 6-3 at No. 2 and Eason topped Zachery 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3.
The Lakers also added wins from Hayes,
Aubrey Salati and Freed to close out the match. Hayes defeated Chakrapani 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4, Salati beat Fornah 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5 and Freed defeated Emmott 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 as the Lakers finished with a 7-0 victory.

Up next, the Lakers host Oneonta on Saturday, Oct. 10, at 1 p.m. in Oswego, N.Y. where they will celebrate their graduating senior.
