Basics
Oswego: 0 (6-11, 0-3 SUNYAC)
Cortland: 3 (9-8, 2-1 SUNYAC)
Location: Cortland, NY
How it Happened
SUNY Oswego fell 25-16 to Cortland in the opening set after Cortland strung together six consecutive points on Bianca Sapano's serve.
Grace Gdovin had a service ace and later served through a three-point Lakers response that included kills by
Priscilla McReynolds and Gdovin off
Mya Bush assists.
The Lakers opened the second set with consecutive points, including a
Lilaina Nelson kill from Bush, but Cortland answered and won the set 25-16. Gdovin,
Chloe Arnaiz, Bush,
Alexandra Fairbanks and
Alaina Dudzinski also had kills for SUNY Oswego, with Dudzinski putting down back-to-back late points. Cortland's six-point stretch midway through the set kept the Lakers from closing the gap.
SUNY Oswego could not sustain its late push in the third set, and Cortland finished with the final three points to take the set 25-16. Dudzinski had three kills for the Lakers, while
Chloe Arnaiz's kill and back-to-back
Piper Adams service aces produced a three-point response late in the set. Cortland answered that stretch and closed the set with a SUNY Oswego attack error, a kill and a service ace.
