Oswego, N.Y. - In celebration of Senior Day, Oswego's seniors showed out on the court and helped guide them to their 3rd conference win. The Lakers showed both offensive dominance and defensive integrity. Seeing how close their first set was, they turned up the energy in both their second and third sets, taking the second by a large 25-7 margin, and snuffing Cobleskill's potential comeback in the third at 25-21.

How it Happened
The Lakers and the Fighting Tigers started off back and forth, with both sides keeping it fairly competitive, with neither gaining more than a 2-point lead at any point throughout the early parts of the first set. A majority of Oswego's points came early in the form of attack errors from Cobleskill, along with a combined three service aces from
CJ Eidem and
Mya Bush. Both Oswego and Cobleskill continued to keep the game even, trading points back and forth until Oswego was able to pull slightly ahead at 20-18, prompting the Pioneers to take a timeout.
CJ Eidem was able to secure back-to-back service aces after the timeout that would give Oswego their first set win at 25-22.
Â
The Lakers looked to come into their second set with ferocity. Not wanting to engage in the back and forth game again, they opened the set going up 6-0, forcing Cobleskill to take another timeout. An absolute onslaught of kills, service aces, and forced attack errors had the Lakers go up a whopping 16-4. The buzzing offense persisted through all 25 points, with the Lakers taking their second set win for the afternoon in dominant fashion, 25-7.
Mya Bush and
Samantha Madigan both had runs of their own in the middle of the set that helped to balloon Oswego's lead early and keep them comfortably ahead.
Â
Oswego, looking to complete their sweep on Senior Day, kept firing on all cylinders to open up the 3rd, going up 8-3, with a majority of their early points coming from forced attack errors. Cobleskill, looking to spark their own run, was able to shorten the gap, catching up 12-15, right before Oswego took another comfortable 5-point lead, 17-12. Cobleskill started to mount a comeback after a string of kills, service aces, and attack errors, but the Lakers were able to secure the set before things got too out of hand, giving them their 9th win of the season.
