Cleveland, Ohio - The Lakers open up their season with a big win over Trine University during the first day of the Bill Sudeck Tournament. The Thunder put up a significant effort but Oswego was able to secure the win 73-70.

How it Happened
The first half was hard fought by both the Lakers and the Thunder, with both teams trading possessions while keeping the score competitive. Deacon Judd was going to work in both the midrange and the paint, putting up most of his total points inside the arc. With under eight minutes left in the first half, Jayson McGhee started to shine after a pair of free throws, then went on to score a whopping 16 points straight, giving the Lakers a 1-point lead going into the second half at 34-33.
 
Oswego looked to push the offensive momentum they had going for them into the second, this time Steven Bradley getting more involved, scoring 16 out of his total 19 points in the first 10 minutes of the half. Jayson McGhee and Deacon Judd continued to push the offensive effort, where some layups and free throws at the end of the game securing the Lakers the win in their season opener.

The Lakers will continue in the Bill Sudeck Tournament tomorrow when they take on the tournament host Case Western in the tournament championship at 2:00 PM.
