Basics
Oswego 15 (2-3, 0-0 SUNYAC)
Nazareth 2 (0-6, 0-0 Empire 8)
Rochester, NY | NLPA Field
How it Happened
The Lakers came out aggressively from the opening draw, with
Aubri Greene securing possession and setting the tone offensively. After a handful of early chances sailed high or wide,
Cassidy Croce finally broke through midway through the first quarter to give Oswego a 1–0 lead.
Oswego's defense quickly settled in, forcing several turnovers from the Nazareth attack and turning them into extended offensive possessions. The momentum sparked a late first-quarter surge as
Alexis Hill netted back-to-back goals before Croce added another of her own, capping a three-goal run that sent the Lakers into the second quarter with a commanding 4–0 lead.
The Lakers' defensive pressure continued into the second quarter, disrupting Nazareth's rhythm and creating more scoring opportunities. Hill struck early in the frame to complete her hat trick, and Croce soon followed with her third goal of the day to push the lead to 6–0. The offensive onslaught continued as Croce capitalized on a man-up opportunity before Greene found the back of the net to extend the lead to 8–0.
Oswego kept its foot on the gas as
Gabriella Geddes on another man-up chance. Greene followed with a free-position goal and added one more before halftime, sending the Lakers into the break in complete control with an 11–0 advantage.
Nazareth managed to get on the board early in the third quarter to make it 11–1, but Hill quickly answered with a free-position goal to halt any momentum.
Cecilia Witherel joined the scoring shortly after, and
Madison Wood converted on yet another man-up opportunity as the Lakers stretched the lead to 14–1 heading into the final quarter.
Nazareth added a goal midway through the fourth to make it 14–2, but Oswego's defense remained strong down the stretch. Goalkeeper
Sophia Diaz came up with several key saves to preserve the lead, while Hill added one final goal late in the quarter to seal a dominant 15–2 victory for the Lakers.
