How it Happened
After a tightly contested opening quarter that ended in a 2-2 deadlock, the Lakers flipped the switch in the second period—and never looked back.
Oswego's offense came alive in the second quarter, pouring in seven goals in a relentless stretch that broke the game open. A balanced attack fueled the surge, with multiple unassisted tallies showcasing the Lakers' ability to create offense in isolation. By the end of the half, Oswego had built a commanding 9-4 advantage.
Leading the charge was
Trey Jones, who put together a standout performance with four goals and an assist. He was one of several Lakers to have a big day offensively, as
Garrett Elston and
Emmet Starowicz each added three goals, while
Doryn Leclair and
Austin Sroda chipped in two apiece.
Oswego continued to press in the third quarter, extending its lead with another four-goal frame. Key back-to-back scores in the final seconds of the period—from Jones and Sroda—pushed the margin to 13-6 and effectively put the game out of reach heading into the fourth.
The Lakers' dominance wasn't limited to the offensive end. They controlled possession throughout, winning 22 faceoffs and scooping up 50 ground balls.
Austin Sroda was especially impactful at the X, going 19-for-27 in faceoff opportunities while also tallying two goals.
In net,
Seamus Hand anchored the defense with 12 saves over 60 minutes, turning away several key chances to halt any momentum Morrisville attempted to build.
