Canton: 4 (7-10, 0-3 SUNYAC)
Location: Oswego, N.Y. | Laker Baseball Field

How it Happened
Oswego wasted no time getting on the board in the bottom of the first. After Emil Sander drew a lead-off walk and advanced on a passed ball, Daniel Winchester drove him home with an RBI single to right. Winchester then stole second and eventually crossed the plate himself on a sacrifice bunt by Dylan Rosenberg, giving the Lakers an early 2-0 cushion.

Canton roared back in the third inning, using a two-run triple by Chris McLean and a sacrifice fly by Sal Diaz to briefly take a 3-2 lead. However, the Lakers responded in the fourth. Benjamin Silverman tied the game with an RBI single scoring Brogan Olson, and Hudson Meyer reclaimed the lead with a sacrifice fly to right, bringing Silverman home for a 4-3 advantage. The Lakers' defense and pitching staff proved to be the difference-maker as the game wore on. Although Canton tied the game at 4-4 in the fifth, Oswego's arms tightened up. Owen Hoyt earned the win in relief, tossing three scoreless innings and allowing only three hits. Hoyt's composure was matched by the Laker infield, which turned three double plays to stifle Canton rallies in the first, fourth, and eighth innings.

The tie was finally broken in the bottom of the seventh. Thomas Harrington reached on an error and moved to third on a sacrifice bunt by Hudson Meyer. Emil Sander then came through with a perfectly executed sacrifice bunt of his own, scoring Harrington to put Oswego up 5-4.

Matthew Drillings entered in the ninth to slam the door, retiring the side in order to earn his fifth save of the season.
