HOW IT HAPPENED

In the opener, Oswego (11-0) set the tone early and never looked back in a 9-3 win. The Lakers jumped on the board in the first inning and continued to apply pressure throughout, tallying 12 hits and drawing six walks.

A balanced offensive effort fueled the victory, highlighted by Lillian Haggerty's standout 4-for-4 performance with three runs scored and an RBI. Delaney Wiley added two hits and two RBIs, while Emma Budzinski delivered a key two-run double in the third inning to put Oswego back in front for good. Gianna DeGonza chipped in with two hits and an RBI, and the Lakers capitalized on aggressive baserunning with six stolen bases.

After Potsdam briefly tied the game at 2-2 in the third, Oswego responded immediately with a two-run frame, then broke things open with three runs in the fourth. The Lakers added insurance in the sixth to seal the win.
In the circle, Alyssa Budzinski was sharp once again, improving to 8-0 on the season. She went the distance, allowing three runs on eight hits while striking out seven.

Game two saw Oswego (12-0) overcome an early deficit to complete the sweep with a 6-2 victory.

Potsdam struck first with two runs in the opening inning, but the Lakers answered in the third. Ryin Perico delivered a clutch two-run single to tie the game, sparking a stretch in which Oswego seized control.

The Lakers broke through in the fourth inning, plating three runs behind RBI hits from Ava Margosian, Kira Wright, and Wiley. Wright continued her impressive day at the plate, finishing 3-for-4 with three runs scored and a triple, while Wiley added three hits and two RBIs. Perico also recorded three hits and drove in a pair.

Oswego tacked on an insurance run in the sixth to extend the lead to 6-2.
