HOW IT HAPPENED

Game 1
The Lakers set the tone early, manufacturing two runs in the first inning. Kira Wright sparked the offense with a triple and later scored on an RBI groundout by Grace DiPalma. Moments later, Emma Budzinski delivered an RBI single to give Oswego a 2-0 lead.

It was the second inning where the game broke open.

Oswego erupted for six runs on five hits, highlighted by a three-run home run from Ryin Perico that capped the inning. Wright delivered a two-run double earlier in the frame, while Kayla Doerre added an RBI single as the Lakers stretched their lead to 8-0.

From there, Alyssa Budzinski took over.

The Oswego ace was nearly untouchable, allowing just two hits and no earned runs while striking out 13 batters in a complete-game effort. Budzinski consistently overpowered Canton hitters, recording strikeouts in all five innings and keeping the Roos off balance throughout.

Canton managed its lone run in the fourth inning, taking advantage of a wild pitch, but the Lakers quickly regained control.

Oswego added an insurance run in the fifth when Delaney Wiley tripled to center field to score Lillian Haggerty, sealing the 9-1 win.

Game 2
The Lakers wasted no time igniting their offense, stringing together six hits in the opening frame. After Kira Wright and Delaney Wiley reached to start the game, Lillian Haggerty delivered the first big swing with an RBI double to center. The hit sparked a relentless rally that saw Molly Reynolds, Tahlia Gerardi, Emma Grasso, and Ariana Guinassi all drive in runs as Oswego jumped out to a commanding 6-0 lead.

Oswego added to its advantage in the second inning when Wiley ripped an RBI double to score Wright, pushing the lead to 7-0.

Canton responded in the third, capitalizing on timely hitting to plate four runs and cut the deficit to 7-4. However, the Lakers answered immediately with another explosive inning. Haggerty highlighted the response with a two-run triple, while Kayla Doerre and Reynolds followed with RBI hits as Oswego poured on five more runs to stretch the lead to 12-4.

Haggerty led the offensive charge with a perfect 4-for-4 performance, finishing a home run shy of the cycle with three RBIs and two stolen bases. Reynolds added two hits and two RBIs, while Grasso and Guinassi each drove in a pair. Wiley also chipped in two hits and an RBI as part of Oswego's 15-hit attack.

In the circle, Chloe Cunningham earned the win, striking out three over two innings of work. Gabriela Milazzo provided strong relief, tossing three innings while allowing just two runs and striking out five to secure the victory.

Canton threatened late with a run in the fifth, but Oswego answered in the bottom half when Guinassi doubled home a run to cap the scoring.
