CANTON, N.Y. — The SUNY Oswego men's golf team opened its fall schedule Saturday at the St. Lawrence University Oliver D. Appleton Golf Course, with the Lakers turning in a solid first round against a competitive field.

How it Happened:

Drew Kippen led the way for Oswego, firing a 3-over 75 to finish tied for 20th. Kippen carded a 38 on the front nine before closing with a 37 on the back nine with 2 birdies on the day.

Tyce Helmick followed with a 5-over 77, while Tyler Simonetti posted a 7-over 79. Both golfers finished inside the top 40 individually, with Simonetti making the turn at 40 before shooting a 39 on the back nine.

Oswego received matching 80s from Justin Alvord and Sam Ligas, who finished tied for 49th. Kevin Waters rounded out the Lakers' lineup with an 85.
