Don Masterson has served as an assistant coach for the Oswego State indoor and outdoor track and field coaching staff since 2011 after retiring as head coach in Spring 2000. Most recently, he worked with 2013 SUNYAC outdoor 400-meter champion and NCAA outdoor qualifier Matt Wagenhauser.
Masterson served as the Oswego State men's and women's cross country coach from 1988-2000 having numerous harriers earn all-conference recognition and qualify for the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships..
Masterson also helped resurrect the Laker track and field programs in 1996, as the sport had been discontinued in the late 1970s. During his time as part of the coaching staff, Masterson worked with numerous SUNYAC and NYSCTC event champions.
Masterson recently retired from SUNY Oswego after serving as a professor in the English Department, where he taught since 1975.
