Freshman harrier Sean Lyons set a new rookie record in a 6K race when he posted a time of 20:58 at the Oneonta Early Bird Invitational on Saturday. He bettered the previous freshman-best time by 13 seconds, which was established by Ben Thuman in 2008, and was the 11th-fastest overall 6K time since 2000.
