Oswego, N.Y. -- Kenny Neil of the men's ice hockey team has been named an Oswego State Athlete of the Week for the week ending January 12, 2014.
Neil earned the recognition after being one of the Lakers most productive players in a 3-0 week. Oswego scored five goals in each of its wins, with Neil being involved on several of those scores.
On Tuesday, Neil recorded a goal and two assists in a 5-0 win over visiting Connecticut College. After beating Nazareth College 5-3 on Friday, Neil helped Oswego gain its most impressive win of the season at No. 8 Utica. The freshman scored a goal and assisted on another in the 5-3 win over the nationally-ranked Pioneers.
On the season, Neil has five goals and 11 assists.
Oswego will be back on the ice at 7 p.m. on Tuesday as Salve Regina enters the Campus Center.
