Oswego, N.Y. – Emily Lange of the women’s lacrosse team has been named the Female Athlete of the Week for week ending April 27, 2014.
 
The sophomore had 14 points on the week in just three games.
 
On Tuesday, Lange led the Lakers to a 16-10 victory against New Paltz with five goals and one assist; good for six points on the afternoon.
 
The Saratoga Spring’s native was on a roll as she posted a career-high six goals on Thursday afternoon in a 12-9 victory over Elmira College. Elmira got up on the Lakers early, taking a 4-1 lead, Lange would change that as she answered with three goals and then added another three later in the second half.
 
She finished the weekend and the 2013-14 women's lacrosse campaign against Oneonta on Saturday in a tough loss but still registered two goals on the day. The sophomore tried to light the fire for the Laker’s when she cut the goal deficit against Oneonta to one (3-2) as she found the back of the net at 20:37 in the first half.
 
The Lakers closed out its season 11-6 overall and 3-5 in SUNYAC play.
