OSWEGO, N.Y. – Sarah Yensan of the women’s track and field team has been named the Oswego State Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending on Feb. 24.
The sophomore had a standout performance this weekend at the Golden Eagle invite where she jumped her way to three new personal bests. She finished seventh in the high jump with a PR of 1.54 m, fourth in the long jump with a PR of 5.43m, and 11th in the triple jump with a PR of 10.32m.
Prior to this weekend, Yensan’s last appearance at the RIT Invitational was one of note as well, as she and teammate Tylea McCarthy-Walker broke the previous school record in the long jump with a leap marked at 5.35m.
With their regular season at an end, Yensan and the Lakers head to Brockport this weekend to compete in the SUNYAC Championships starting at 3 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. on Saturday.
