Oswego, N.Y. -- Justin Sommer of the men’s cross country team has been named The Oswego State Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending Sept. 6, 2015.

Oswego State was at the SUNY Poly Wildcat Invitational on Saturday for a 6K race that consisted of 126 runners from 13 different schools. All seven Lakers that entered the race finished in the top 20, led by Sommer who finished 5^th overall with a time of 19:54. His time led the Lakers to a first place finish at the event.

The time was a new PR for Sommer, beating his old time by two seconds. The run was also good enough to tie him for second fastest in Oswego State history.

The Lakers will be back in action at 11 a.m. next Saturday as they host 11 teams for the Oswego State Invitational.
