OSWEGO, N.Y. – Teresa Shattuck of the women’s lacrosse team has been named the Oswego State Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending March 13th, 2016.
Shattuck had a breakout performance in her second game as a Laker, putting up seven points in the team’s 18-7 win over RIT. The freshman attackman now leads the squad in points with 10.
The seven points for Shattuck included four goals, the first of which came just 1:28 into the game and gave Oswego an early 1-0 lead. She would add another later in the half and two more in the second period to help put the game away.
Shattuck also played the role of distributor in the contest, shelling out assists for three different teammates. Her first assist in the opening period capped a 4-0 run for Oswego, giving them a commanding lead that they would never relinquish.
Earlier in the week, Shattuck notched two goals and added an assist in a 9-7 loss against Clarkson. She also controlled two draws during the game, and now has four draw controls on the season.
Women’s lacrosse will be back on the field at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 19th when they host Houghton College at Laker Turf Stadium.
