OSWEGO, N.Y. – Tori Trovato of the softball team has been named the Oswego State Female Athlete of the Week for the week ending March 27, 2016.
Trovato was a force at the plate during the trip to Florida this week, finding herself on base for 14 of her 20 plate appearances. The senior smacked nine hits including a triple, knocked in two runs and scored seven of her own. She kept contributing once on base too, going a perfect 3-3 on stolen base attempts to lead the team.
Her best game of the week came in the squads 12-2 win over Maine-Farmington. The catcher had three base hits in her four at bats, grabbing two RBI on the day. She also had one of her three stolen bases during the game and used it to help score one of her two runs.
Trovato now ranks in the top 20 of the SUNYAC in six different statistical categories, including batting average (T2), runs (12), hits (19), triples (T3), walks (T9), and stolen bases (T6).
Oswego will be back in action at 6 p.m. on Wednesday when it hosts SUNY Poly for a double-header.
