OSWEGO, N.Y. – Tyler Buxbaum of the men’s tennis has been named the Oswego State Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending April 24, 2016.
Buxbaum recorded five wins on the week with two wins at doubles and three at singles where he did not drop a single game. The sophomore’s work helped the Lakers record three wins and push the season record to 12-2, which is the best record in program history.
In the first match of the week against the Keystone College Giants, Buxbaum joined Jimmy Terzian to win in second doubles 8-3. He then continued to win fifth singles in an impressive 6-0, 6-0 fashion.
Against the Utica College Pioneers, Buxbaum helped shutout the opponent at third doubles 8-0. The Congers, N.Y. native continued to display his great play in singles with another double-bagel performance, winning 6-0 and 6-0 over his opponent.
In the last match of the week and the season against the Keuka College Wolfpack, Buxbaum once again dominated his opponent and did not drop a game in route to a 6-0, 6-0 victory.
