Dylan McCarthy of the men’s cross country team was named the Oswego State Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending November 13. It is his second AOW honor this season.

In the NCAA Division III Atlantic Regional hosted by Rowan University in Glassboro, N.J. on Saturday, McCarthy finished in 41st place out of more than 300 runners. With a time of 25:28.2, the sophomore shattered the standing 8K program record that was set in 2000 by Rich Friedrich (25:46).

His performance helped lead the team to a 13th place finish out of 44 teams. This marked a six place improvement from last season’s NCAA competition.
