Kenny Neil of the men’s ice hockey team was named the Oswego State Male Athlete of the Week for the week ending February 12.
In Friday’s game versus Canton, the senior captain scored the first goal of the game. This started the momentum, which Oswego rode to four first-period goals before defeating its opponent 6-1.
On Saturday, Neil tied a season-high in points by recording three assists and subsequently leading the Lakers to a 6-0 victory. With his four points during the two games, he is now tied for leading point scorer on the team this season (35).
No. 2/3 men’s ice hockey returns to action at 7 p.m. on Friday as they host the Fredonia Blue Devils to open the final weekend of regular season play.
